Financial Analyst (FP&A)
The Financial Analyst supports Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and has a crucial role in the development and preparation of reporting tools to support financial decision making. The role utilizes analysis and reports to provide insightful analysis, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The Analyst collaborates closely with the FP&A team and department Directors to provide operational data and reporting to enable strategic planning, budgeting, scenario planning, and forecasting.
The Financial Analyst reports to the Senior Director, Finance (FP&A). This position is remote, with occasional travel to corporate office.
Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, and analyze financial and operational data from various sources; including from accounting, project management, and CRM software.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and financial models to support financial metric reporting.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement based on data analysis.
- Communicate financial information to finance department, business unit leads and various stakeholders in clear, concise reports.
- Deliver reporting and analysis in a timely manner and support Elevate’s close cycle.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, and prepare presentations and reports for senior management and the board.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess potential impacts on financial outcomes and identify potential risks and/or opportunities.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through regular audits and reconciliations by implementing best practices in data management and reporting.
- Collaborate with departments to develop annual operating budgets, periodic forecasting, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor budget and forecast vs. actual performance and provide analysis to support decision-making related to strategic initiatives and program expansions.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive organizational performance.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis processes.
- Educate and train staff on the use of data tools and resources to improve data literacy across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, preferred
- At least three (3+) years as a Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or financial setting
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong aptitude for technology. Ability to develop technology-based solutions to streamline and improve processes
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
- Strong P&L knowledge, understanding of GAAP, proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices
- Self starter with the ability to create reports with and without direct oversite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation
The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience.
