Decarbonization Project Manager, Community Programs (MI)
Elevate’s Decarbonization Project Manager on the Community Programs – Michigan Team is integral in advancing our goal of decarbonizing affordable housing and non-profit buildings. The Decarbonization Project Manager, Community Programs also contributes to various projects aimed at improving building performance and promoting clean energy solutions. This position leads and executes assignments in specialized technical domains, working collaboratively with team members to achieve our mission and commitment exceptional project delivery while demonstrating Elevate’s organizational values, commitment to equity, and principles of partnership
The Decarbonization Project Manager, Community Programs reports to the Director, Community Programs. This position is located in Michigan and is hybrid. There may be instances in which onsite visits and travel are required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute technical services related to decarbonizing affordable housing and nonprofit buildings, including work related to energy and water efficiency, electrification, renewable energy and electrification.
- Coordinate services for energy efficiency, sustainability, and solar programs, including reviewing and developing technical reports, engineering calculations, and cost estimates.
- Perform engineering tasks that demand specialized knowledge, including: Decarbonization assessments, building assessments, energy modeling, energy-saving calculations, expert review of energy efficiency measures such as HVAC systems, water efficiency and lighting.
- Support CP team members and collaborate with other Elevate staff as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Actively participate in technical and industry societies and committees to stay updated on new technologies and emerging issues in areas of interest to Elevate.
- Research and assess new and innovative decarbonization solutions, technical calculation methodologies, and building science processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance program design and delivery processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field
- At least three (3+) years of technical project management required
- Proficiency in problem definition, data collection, and analytical thinking to draw valid conclusions
- Strong data entry skills, including working with spreadsheets and tracking systems. Knowledge of Salesforce CRM system is a plus
- Familiarity with engineering designs, principles, and practices
- Technical knowledge and experience in energy savings calculations, building science, and decarbonization
- A solid grasp of energy efficiency and building science concepts
- Construction project management preferred but not required
- Commitment to equity, quality, collaboration, and accountability
- Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all management levels
- Willingness to travel locally, approximately 40-50% of the time

Compensation
The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary of $60,000 – $70,000 based on experience.
