Diversity, Racial Equity, and Inclusion Lead

The Diversity, Racial Equity, and Inclusion (DREI) Lead is responsible for the development and implementation (integration) of initiatives that promote diversity, racial equity, and inclusion (DREI) aligning with Elevate’s core vision, mission, values, and goals. The DREI Lead will work closely with the DREI support team and others, as needed, to ensure integration of DREI principles throughout Elevate programs, processes and practices, execute on strategic priorities, and drive successful outcomes. This Lead will serve as the subject matter expert on DREI and provide vision, expertise, and counsel on matters of diversity initiatives, strategic planning, education and research, and program implementation.

The DREI Lead reports to the Vice President (VP), Program Support & Engagement. This position is located in Chicago, IL and is currently remote, but there will be instances in which onsite visits and travel are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Elevate’s DREI key initiatives (strategy, programs, and projects).
  • Lead companywide internal and external large-scale DREI initiatives.
  • Coordinates and asssists across functions, teams, and with external partners to implement, integrate, and execute on the DREI strategies into business programs and processes.
  • Define key performance indicators by partnering with cross-functional teams to develop metrics for core programs and processes.
  • Drive development, implementation, monitoring (analysis), and communication of key diversity metrics, building scorecards and dashboards, etc., to guide actions and strategic priorities, identify gaps, and measure impact/success of DREI program initiatives and identified goals.
  • Researches new practices, strategies, and regulatory/compliance matters to ensure improvement of company initiatives.
  • Enhances communications strategy, prepares communications strategy including memos, resource guides, newsletter, and intranet features related to DREI activities and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, support, and general leadership to Elevate’s Affinity Groups, fostering their growth, impact, and ensure alignment with Elevate goals.
  • Identify and build relationships within the broader DREI community and identify external partners and organizations that can deliver impact and support Elevate’s DREI objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, with a focus on operational effectiveness
  • Track record in developing, designing, and delivering projects and initiatives
  • Proven success in leading and measuring efficacy of organizational initiatives with a prioritization on collaboration, inclusivity, and empowerment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly organize materials, prioritize, and coordinate tasks
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills (oral and written), as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels within and outside of the organization, including executive leadership
  • Excellence with Microsoft Suite

Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $80,000 – $100,000, based on experience.
