Bilingual Senior Associate, Community Partnerships

The Bilingual Senior Associate, Community Partnerships, works to implement community-based strategies for educating and engaging individuals on saving both money and energy. Community education and engagement at Elevate includes providing general awareness of new technologies associated with helping customers enroll in programs sponsored by Elevate, utilities, or third parties to help reduce energy bills and environmental impact. The Bilingual Senior Associate, Community Partnerships is accountable for achieving a metrics-driven outreach and organizing plans to engaging with communities across Chicago.

The Bilingual Senior Associate, Community Partnerships reports directly to the Associate Director, Community Partnerships, and works closely with Elevate’s Communications and Marketing team to coordinate messaging across programs. This position is located in Chicago and is currently hybrid, but there will be instances in which onsite visits and travel are required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and be held accountable to a metrics-driven outreach plan.
  • Lead and direct constituent engagement, including outreach to individuals at community events.
  • Engage key stakeholders including, but not limited to, local elected officials and community leaders.
  • Manage and grow successful partnerships with diverse groups of stakeholders across Chicago,  Cook County, and suburbs, to help support increased access to clean energy education for individuals and families.
  • Serve as a community landscape expert within Illinois with knowledge of agency partners, community organizations, faith institutions and other organizations that are participating in meaningful impact and outcomes for the communities they serve.
  • Help recruit, manage, and train local volunteer teams.
  • Organize community meetings, events, and training sessions.
  • Follow up with interested homeowners and individuals to encourage their participation in energy-savings programs.
  • Develop and implement neighborhood-specific messaging with Elevate’s Communications team.
  • Maintain timely data entry and integrity of efforts and results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least three (3+) years’ experience in related role required.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, required.
  • Access to reliable transportation, at home internet, and a cell phone required.
  • Passion for environmental issues, economic and social justice, and/or energy efficiency.
  • Willingness and ability to become well-versed in residential energy use.
  • Familiarity with standard business computer applications; experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking to large groups and facilitating small group discussions, and excellent at one-on-one interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and political beliefs.
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to craft professional letters or email communications.
  • Strong organizational ability and experience in meeting established goals within tight
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and remotely as well as within a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and collaborating with volunteers.
  • Ability and willingness to motivate individuals to take action regarding their energy usage and engaging with new technology and programs to assist with this; prior experience in sales or community organizing a plus.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency upgrades or residential construction a plus.

Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience.
