Senior Associate, Community Partnerships

The Senior Associate, Community Partnerships works across functional teams, shared services, and with external partners to lead community-facing aspects of the delivery of Elevate Programs.  Senior Associate, Community Partnerships will initially support the Illinois Solar for All residential program. The Illinois Solar for All Program (ILSFA), directed by the Illinois Power Agency and administered by Elevate, aims to deliver the benefits of solar and the clean energy economy to low-income and environmental justice communities across Illinois. The Senior Associate, Community Partnerships effectively plans outreach and partnership efforts for the program to increase participation in the Bright Neighborhoods Pilot, with a focus in the Carbondale-Marion metropolitan area of Southern Illinois and potentially the Waukegan area of northern Illinois as well as the Garfield Park area of Chicago. This position is responsible for developing partnerships, planning, overseeing, and attending events, and conducting outreach to community groups or residents.

The Senior Associate, Community Partnerships reports directly to the Associate Director, Community Partnerships. This position is located in Chicago Illinois and is hybrid, there may be instances in which onsite visits and travel are required. Some elements of work will take place in communities in northern Illinois, the west side of Chicago, and southern Illinois until May 2025 and some travel to those regions will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement outreach and manage stakeholder engagement to increase or maintain participation in selected programs or pilots.
  • Develop metrics for measuring outreach or event outcomes and track and report on these metrics and associated learnings.
  • Communicate internally and externally with Approved Vendors, partners/consultants, participants, and internal project team to report on current activities and key metrics.
  • Coordinate closely with colleagues to share and implement best practices amongst the Bright Neighborhoods team or other relevant teams.
  • Partner with Elevate’s ILSFA, marketing and communications, community outreach and program support teams to coordinate participant communications and intake activities, including call center support, and initial intake and scheduling with participants.
  • Partner with the community outreach team to coordinate outreach efforts, including conducting outreach to community groups, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, holding outreach events, sharing information for partners to distribute, and other tactics to spread word about Elevate programs and ultimately enroll participants.
  • Assist or support the marketing team in developing any needed program marketing materials, including incentive applications, program flyers, fact sheets, case studies, customer satisfaction surveys, and event presentations.
  • Manage budgets as well as schedules for specific deliverables.
  • Assist in identifying training needs, process changes, and reporting capabilities that result from program enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sustainability, or related field preferred, or up to seven (7+) years of related experience
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Experience with community outreach and stakeholder engagement
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills and a drive for excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of marketing and outreach tactics needed to reach income-eligible communities
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or a customer relationship management system preferred
  • Passion for environmental issues, economic and social justice, and/or renewable energy and ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and political beliefs
  • Capacity to manage a high volume of work and complex situations
  • Solid verbal and written business communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Illinois and/or Chicago metropolitan area, its communities, community organizations, and leaders preferred, and familiarity or willingness to become familiar with other regions in Illinois
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team

Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $60,000 – $70,000, based on experience.
