Get to Know a Contractor: Building Energy Experts
This is the second in a four-part series on the local contractors we work with.
We often tout the environmental and community benefits of energy efficiency. We’re also making things easier for local contractors and creating jobs along the way. In fact, since we started our energy efficiency service for multifamily buildings, we’ve helped to create more than 500 local jobs!
We’d like to share the stories of local businesses that are creating good jobs and helping our communities do more with less energy.
Building Energy Experts
Let’s meet Building Energy Experts, an energy efficiency company based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The company works on both residential and commercial buildings and has seven employees.
Manager Anthony Stonis said programs that help homeowners and building owners invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy have helped the business grow and create jobs. “Energy efficiency programs are crucial to our business,” he said. “It’s made our business grow by leaps and bounds. We’re able to help manage our cash flow a lot better.”
This includes his experience in working with Elevate Energy, which acts as an independent third party to Anthony and his team at Building Energy Experts. “Elevate Energy really gives us a lot of credibility,” he said. “They help manage leads for our company; follow up on projects for us; make sure that not only is the homeowner satisfied, but keeps us in check and makes sure we’re doing what we’re supposed to as well.”
Even better, Anthony feels good doing it. It’s satisfying to do work that saves people money and makes homes and building more comfortable, he said. “We’ve got a lot of positive reviews – nothing but positive feedback on energy savings and increase in comfort.”
