Making a Home in Litchfield, Illinois
As part of a new program through the Illinois Science and Energy Innovation Foundation (ISEIF), our five Elevate Energy outreach advocates (who we affectionately refer to as the Action Team) are working across the state to help people understand the smart grid and the money-saving efficiency programs made possible by this new technology. The team is educating Illinois residents on topics including smart electricity rates, how to make the most of a smart meter, and the best ways to save on utility bills.
To do this, we needed to find a home base outside of Chicago where we could meet with residents, local leaders, businesses, and organizations located in Ameren territory. So, we acquired a new space in Litchfield, Illinois, at 207 N. State Street. We love it!

Nick and Liz and the rest of the outreach advocates can tell you if you’re a good fit for an hourly pricing program, which allows residential consumers to pay hourly electricity rates set in the wholesale market, rather than the standard fixed rate. They can also explain which home energy improvement programs are available to you, and help you schedule an assessment to learn which improvements will be most effective for your home, including air sealing and insulation.
